Welcome to Thurso House B&B and the Wee Wildlife Gallery.
Thurso House is a wee traditional Caithness stone cottage, and the home of Sheila and Michael Elder. Our rooms are the normal size for a home of over a hundred years old, that is, cosy not palatial!
Thurso House was (according to local folklore) used by crofters as a "Sunday House" where in times gone by local crofters would gather between church services. The crofters would rest and take refreshment before attending the next service of the day.
We feel that using our home as a wee B&B is carrying on that tradition of hospitality, so come and stay at Thurso House. We promise that you will leave feeling refreshed, content, and rested.
"When we arrived we received a warm welcome of the lady of the house. The house is in a good and quiet location. We had a nice walk (not too far) into the center and the restaurants. We enjoyed staying with you VERY much."
Wee Wildlife Gallery
The Wee Wildlife Gallery exists to provide opportunities for artists based in Scotland who specialise in depicting our wildlife and landscape in a variety of media. The gallery is small, but we have more than fifty works of art on display by five artists.
Check in from 4.30. Earlier arrival should be requested well in advance of your stay and we will try to accommodate you. However you can leave your luggage with us, returning to book in later.
